Gift Giving made easier

http://www.artisansilvergifts.com/
Whatever the reason for gift giving, it entails going out and about finding something unique for that someone special. You want to surprise, to give joy, and ultimately be appreciated for your thoughtfulness.

Take a risk. I would choose a real gift over a certificate or cash, which do not create emotional connection. Give it some thought, and try to come up with something that person would/could not buy for themselves. Be generous, but remember that ‘luxury’ is attention to detail, originality, exclusivity, and above all quality.

These recommendations should help:

1)      Set yourself a budget.
It is so much easier to find something appropriate when you have an idea of how much you are willing to spend. Do not overextend yourself, which is not the purpose of gift-giving.

2)      Celebrate the occasion.
When you think of a Housewarming gift you will want to get something decorative yet useful for the home. If you are attending a Baby Shower, it will be a gift related to a baby’s needs, or a Christening will be something meaningful as a Crib Medal.

3)      Think of what he/she loves.
Hobbies? Colors? Accessories always make a great gift!  Find a beautiful shawl for Her, or a classic scarf for Him. Choose from a rainbow of colors to brighten up anybody’s wardrobe.

4)      Wrap it pretty!
Presentation showcases your effort.

5)      Write a note!
Express your care or love with a personal message. It makes a difference!

And, don’t forget to enjoy yourself giving Gifts!

The Best Poncho for You

Ponchos come in all shapes and sizes, just as we do. Ponchos are originally from South America, worn since pre-Hispanic times by the people in the Andes. The traditional Poncho is closed and worn over your head. The Ruana Poncho is open at the front, and can be worn wrapped over one shoulder.

The Poncho is a quintessential garment, which enhances anyone’s wardrobe from classy to retro, to incredibly cool and stylish. Skinny jeans or pencil skirts pair nicely with a Poncho, wrap or cape. You do not have to be tall and skinny to wear a Poncho well. Full-figured or a Plus Size? A Poncho would draw attention to your style, not your outline. Long Ponchos work best on a tall frame, as they would overwhelm a petit frame. A soft knit, asymmetric Poncho will suit a smaller frame beautifully, and can be worn even indoors.

Best length? I personally like a Poncho to end anywhere between the hip and knees. Not too long. It should not look as if you were wearing a blanket. And I love the shorter Poncho, which basically replaces a cardigan.

We carry a wonderful selection of Ponchos in 100% Baby Alpaca, in a fine knit or woven, and both in solid colors or in contrasting geometric design... gorgeous!

Go for it, a Poncho is a fabulous complement to your wardrobe!
